A Gathering of ERGYS Enthusiasts:
Addressing the Long-term Health of the Spinal Cord Injured
Atlanta, GeorgiaToday at the Abilities Expo International, Therapeutic Alliances Inc. of Fairborn, Ohio USA, extended a
worldwide invitation to their September 7 celebration, "A Gathering of ERGYS
Enthusiasts." This event, co-hosted by Wright State University's Institute of
Rehabilitation Research & Medicine, will be both a fond remembrance of the past and a
look to the future of the technology embodied in the ERGYS 2, a product that TAI introduced in April.
According to president James Schorey, "The 'ERGYS Gathering' is our opportunity to
thank both past and present research subjects, researchers, and clinicians. Their
dedication has helped to ensure that this technology is available to everyone."
The ERGYS 2, a leg cycle ergometer featuring TAI's proprietary functional electrical
stimulation (FES) technology, builds on twelve years of experience with the REGYS and
ERGYS 1 Rehabilitation Systems which are in use in more than 600 clinics and homes
worldwide. The ERGYS 2 and its predecessors are designed to maintain and improve the
health of individuals with spinal cord injury, as well as those suffering from other
neuromuscular deficits.
Along with the ERGYS 2, TAI offers a full line of rehabilitation products, including the SpectraSTIM 2000 muscle stimulator, the
NeuroEDUCATOR II electromyography (EMG) processor, and the Bioflex Electrode Garment
(manufactured by Bioflex Inc., Columbus, Ohio). All of these products are on display at
the Abilities Expo International, booth #225, August 16-18. The schedule for live
demonstrations is available at TAI's booth.
